BON JOVI AND MORE PERFORM FOR A CURE
Bon Jovi, Brian Wilson, and Jerry Seinfed and a slew of other stars plan to perform at venues around New York City throughout the year as part of the Stand up for a Cure concert series. The shows are designed to raise funds and awareness for lung cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer Center. Bon Jovi’s gig for the series will take place on Tuesday when Richie Sambora will open with a 30-minute set. According to Billboard magazine, the show will be dedicated to Sambora’s father, who dies from cancer last year. The sold out concert the Hammerstein ballroom has already raised one-million dollars and the cash will be used to fund two mobile hospice units for low-income neighborhoods in new York. Stand up for a Cure hopes to produce between five and eight shows this year.
